Laptop Turns On And Off
Turns out that when the battery is recognized as fully charged (80%), the charger supplies power consistently. The light at the bottom that signifies the cord is plugged in is green. But, if it is lower than 80% and needs to charge the battery, the light literally turns on and off from red to nothing to red to nothing.

This feature comes in handy when a computer wants to communicate or send data or files to a network computer which should only come online when it is requested. Built into the hardware, i.e., network adapter, this could be one possible reason. If you check the screenshot where we ran the command, you will notice that we do have the ethernet adapter as one of the wake-up devices.Open Device Manager (Win+X and then hit M).
Under Network adapters, find the one that was listed above. Do not change anything with those listed as Miniport.Right-click and select Properties Power management Uncheck the option which says ‘Allow this device to wake up the computer‘.This will make sure no PC on the network can wake your PC. However, make sure to remember this in case you need it.6 Prevent Scheduled Windows Update & Automatic maintenanceDepending on your active hours or a predefined schedule, it is possible that its the Windows Update that has restarted your PC to complete the update. Windows also has in-built Automatic Maintenance mode which wakes up the PC at the set time and performs all the update on your PC.Open Settings Windows Update and Security Windows Update Select Active Hours.To change the time for Automatic maintenance, type Automatic maintenance in the search bar, and click on it. Here you can change the timing or just uncheck the box ‘ Allow scheduled maintenance to wake up my computer at the scheduled time‘.I hope all these help you solve the problems which had been waking up your Windows 10 PC all of a sudden.
Laptop Screen Won't Turn On
I have a Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7052 and as I turn my laptop on it works fine for about 5-10 minutes however after that time frame my screen goes black. Everything is still running perfectly as I hear nothing that's out of the norm however like I said my screen goes black and noticed that the 'caps lock' key doesn't light up either.I have drained all excess charge from my laptop and that did not work. I hooked up my laptop to an external monitor and it works fine up until my laptop gets the black screen then my external monitor goes blank as well. So, I'm drawing a blank at what else it could be.If anyone reading this can guide me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
I think I may have found a solution.I've turned the laptop on with the battery connected and also without it connected and both times have operated for 10+ minutes. But here's the thing, both times I had the laptop standing in a vertical position to let the air flow and so the laptop will be cool. However, when I put the laptop down in it's normal horizontal position the screen shuts off withing a few seconds but the computer still running.So, my question is this. Could all of this be heat related? I don't have a laptop fan to rest it on but from what I've been testing it seems that heat is most likely the cause.
I installed HWMonitor and it all seems to be fine, the temperature isn't bad (imo) the lowest temp I recorded was 54 degrees (Cel) and the highest was 69 degrees (Cel). I couldn't record the fan activity because for some reason it wouldn't show and I couldn't figure out how to bring up that activity.I did bow out the vents with canned air.And yes, I do hear the fan run. It's strange because I noticed when my laptop starts up the fan is quiet as a new laptop should sound but progressively the fan sounds a tad louder as i'm browsing with multiple tabs or using different programs (at the same time) then ultimately my screen shuts off. Monitor the temperatures in real time by having HWMonitor display in the tray next to the clock. See what the temperature is when the screen goes dark.Laptop processors are set up to run at variable speeds depending on the demand.
So if you are hitting 69C the processor is probably slowing down to maintain that temperature.You may need to partially dismantle the case to clean things better.Get you see a lot of dust come out when you blew it out?Your temperatures are kind of high. My desktop CPU is currently running 31C. That is about 10 degrees F. Hotter than the room temperature.
