Feb 10, 2011  I'm on the power up level in Half-Life 1, and I'm trying to get the Gargantua to follow me through the door so I can press the button to kill it, but that door isn't open. I tried searching, but didn't find many results. This is the first chapter of Half-Life.It serves as the introduction to the game and follows the player character, Gordon Freeman, as he heads to Sector C.Gordon rides a tram deep into the heart of the Black Mesa Research Facility on his way to the Anomalous Materials Lab to begin work. Nothing seems to be out of place, except a chemical leak that forces the tram to momentarily stop. Half-Mind is a Half-Life 2 corruption, like Mr Propper. It’s subtler, though, and feels like a European student art film. At times it seems to only be missing the dissonant violin cords, or Dear Esther -like narration. But then the combine soldiers start breakdancing.

Getting out of the train was trippy. I thought I was the first to ever do that. I suppose not. Anyway, I practiced some more with this train bit, and I haven't met with success yet at stopping near Barney, just so I can see what happens with him. However, I did stop the train at an interesting two points. You know where the train has to stop for another train passing infront of it? Well I froze it there because I wanted to see what happened with that cool robot thing. He just walks around the corner.

But the train kept going after I walked out of my spot, and it went through the closed blast door, while I was stuck behind. Cool little glitchI then stopped it infront of the G-man, and the huge spider thingy? It walked THROUGH the train OO; ツxA0After that happened, I waited to see what happened with it after it went into the goo. Nothing happens, it just sinks in there and never comes out. Cool little glitch:PI then stopped it infront of the G-man, and the huge spider thingy?

It walked THROUGH the train OO; ツxA0After that happened, I waited to see what happened with it after it went into the goo. Nothing happens, it just sinks in there and never comes out. Why thank you. I was running the Hazard course a few minutes ago - and finding tricks, some really interesting - and then went back to the train. I fell out right where I did last time, but this time I chased down the train by means of speed jumping. I had more time to explore this way.

I got down to the helicopter, and it's so cool. Parts of it don't exist, and there's this weird door down there - which you can see from the train - that's just a black void. Barney and the scientist are there, and the scientist simply just does his little cutscene bit, while Barney just stands there. I didn't test out 'using them' and seeing what happened. Now I'm gonna start to try falling out of the train at more interesting places, like near the G-man, at the beginning - so I can possibly explore those huge facilities - by Barney, by the robots, the huge missle, everywhere really. Wow, falling out of the train gives way for so many new tricks.EDIT: I decided to upload my trick demos in the Hazard Course. I think I've done all that can be done. The first link links to rapidshare, the second links to filefront, and the third one links to 'yousendit.'

I decided to upload it to all three, just incase people preferred one or the other. Once again, v.1.1.1.0 in HLSP Bunny, and the.zip file is 5.40mb.Enjoy watching. Oh and I lied.

I haven't done everything. First off, I'm gonna try to get down that pipe in demo 7 and land at the bottom alive, and I'm working to get to the very tip top of the elevator in demo 3. And there we are.EDIT2: I've been trying to get to the top of that elevator. Unfortunately it's impossible I did however get to the bottom of that pipe quite easily. No demo of that yet. I did however take a demo of my first Multiplayer trick in HLSP Bunny:I forgot the name of the map (:P), but whatever. It's essentially using one tau boost, and strafe jumping around the entire map.

It's not really considered a trick I guess, but it's impressive. Why thank you. I was running the Hazard course a few minutes ago - and finding tricks, some really interesting - and then went back to the train.

Well, I haven't tried registering for Steam yet. I will later though when I start speed running the game because it'd be easier on everyone, but it seems v.1.1.1.0 is glitchy enough to afford some excellent tricksI didn't know you needed the CD to register for Steam though. I think my CD is here somewhere in this huge CD rack, so I don't think it'll be too much trouble ^^;And do the links in the first post no longer work?

Hmm, well, I guess I'll upload 'em again. Both wordpad documents, that aren't fabulously written. Don't go nuts if you see an extra 'you' where it shouldn't be or something, I was tired when I wrote thoseI'm working on a third one that'll explain everything else in the game. Wallsliding, the hornet gun, yeah. If you want more advice that revolve around those tutorials, or just tips on anything else, I'll elaborate on anything here.

I found it years ago by complete accident (considering I just detonated for no apparent reason). Didn't know the scientist could explode too though. I just made my own little Blast Pit collection (not full of course). I'll upload it and edit this post with the.zip file of all 11 demos.EDIT: And here it is:Just v.1.1.1.0, no HL Bunny, which is why in the demo play back, my strafe jumping is slower. Anyways, just a little collection.

You may want to watch 'Pit5' a couple times over. LOL, I love that trick. I found it years ago by complete accident (considering I just detonated for no apparent reason). Anyways, just a little collection. You may want to watch 'Pit5' a couple times over;). Now those were cool. Time for the break down45: OO46: Yeah, I did that a long time ago. I think you can block those things with satchels too. It's funny, why wouldn't it just go back up?50: I've been up there.

Two days ago actually ^^;51: Been up there too. The area before is fun too, because if you kill that scientist, THEN talk into the room where he is, he starts talking even though he's dead.52: Haven't been up there with just jumping o.o;53: I've been all over that area. Getting to the top of that structure is fun as well. I should post a demo on how to get to the top.54: Didn't know about that o.o;55: Yep56: That's the headcrab glitch I mentioned in the.doc.

So cool57: Surprisingly I've done that. I wanted to make it over the doors, so yeah. Also, you can lead a headcrab up the stairs, then make it over that railing just barely. And getting out of the train was the coolest thing I've almost ever done.

There's of course underneath Interloper and the bottom of Surface Tension, so it isn't the coolest, but it's still damn crazy. I wonder if anyone has actually done it before, or if everybody is just saying it can be done without any proof. I should make a video soon to be the first to have video proof ^^;Also, that document I wrote is really outdated. I'm gonna make a new one with ALL of my tricks when this is all finished. Then who knows?

Maybe a bunch of the tricks can be comprised into a big trick video (as is mentioned in my sig:D). Now those were cool. Time for the break down;D45: OO46: Yeah, I did that a long time ago.

I went up the ladder, jumped to the right side.

Then went back as far as possible. At the end of that higher level I slid up that wall as far as possible and then crouched. That way I made it to the other surface to the right thats not so steep.

So cool/quotehehe that one was new to me:)Oh and I forgot to mention: At the beginning of Blast Pit there is this big elevator, that takes you up. I was successful at doing the jump to the top. After maybe 100 tries:)That one is really nice too. I woulnt have found that if it wasnt in the docAnyway if you decide to really do the trick video you have at least 1 guaranteed download;).

Hehe, thanks. As for Residue Processing, I get up the same way you do. Took me a little while to find it as well, but I did. There's more stuff in that area I haven't explored yet, which I've been meaning to do. For instance, if you slip down the skybox, you can land on the side of the map. And if you're up there, just fall off the map and you've done my 'Out of Half-Life' trick ^^;I wonder if you ever hit a bottom. Well, I won't be the one to test that out.

The trick with the scientist is always cool. You can do the same thing in Surface Tension. After you run up the electrical tower and down into the hole, make sure you land on a box.

Then shoot him in the head and fall on the ground.Hmm, I just had an interesting idea for Blast Pit. I think I'll give it a shot and see if it works. I'm also glad you got to the top of that elevator. It took me FOREVER to get on top of it.

Half Life Glitch Life Game

I haven't recorded a demo of me doing it yet though. I'll be doing that soon enough I guess. Then when I get FRAPs, I'll record my 'make the elevator disappear' trick ^^;The trick with the headcrab was something I found when I got to the bottom of Blast Pit for the first time (watch those demos!

The same thing happens with a bullsquid. If you get on top of him, he'll do nothing but melee thin air.Anyways, I'm gonna make my demo collection in Unforseen Consequences next and post the demos hereEDIT: Ok, I lied, I did We've Got Hostiles firstIt's not the entire level, just some tricks I wanted to do. Just v.1.1.1.0, no HLSP Bunny. I'll do Unforseen Consequences right now =P. Hehe, thanks. As for Residue Processing, I get up the same way you do.

Yes i've also done the 'out of half-life'.I've watched it maybe around 3 minutes. Then I quickloadedOh and you mentioned the scientist in surface tension. I know one trick there although i'm pretty sure you already did that.

Once you've taken the elevator out of the mined room. Throw one mortar up the elevator shaft. Things will blow up and the screen will turn white. If you leave the map and head for the next 'loading' in time the screen will just turn normal again and everything will be fine. But dont turn back.

Half Life Glitch Life Expectancy

The end-of-game-event will still be triggeredI also had the disappearing elevator several times (while trying the hard jump to the top)If you wish I could send you the demo of my hop to the top. But I certainly understand if you want to do it yourself againI've already watched the demos in Blast Pit Nice JumpsI especially liked how you got down to the bottom alive. I did not bother to find the spot you mention in the.docAlthough I dont have HLSP Bunny I can still view the demos.

Half Life Glitch Life

StrangelyAfter the first demo finished playback I get an error in the console and cant play any other demo before I restart the gameBut it works. Cant download HLSP Bunny at home. Im stuck with ISDN. I live in the last god-forsaken village in Germany that has no DSLNow I'm gonna watch WGH. Yes i've also done the 'out of half-life'.I've watched it maybe around 3 minutes.

That'd be cool if you could send me your demo of getting to the top of the elevator. The trick in Surface Tension you mentioned isn't really new to me, but in a way it is. I've always wondered what would happen if you did that, I just never found out what happened after if it worked. So I guess it's new to meThanks for the Blast Pit compliment. Those aren't all my Blast Pit tricks of course, but it was just a little blip for fun. About getting to the bottom, I was trying everything I could think of at first.

I spawned a zombie in mid-air for some reason, jumped on his head (not sure if I still have the demo somewhere) and tried to land on the bottom alive, but I didn't. I was trying to jump on lights, push monsters down there, stack boxes, nothing worked. Then I was trying to be fancy with my wing jumps by going backwards, and I found that spot by accident.

It was so awesome, I was going nuts the first time I did it. Feels good to be the first to do something ^^;Lmao at your god-forsaken place in Germany. I've been able to watch HLSP demos as well, it's weird. Not a problem it seemsI think you'll enjoy my little WGH tricks. I have a lot more, but I felt like doing those again especially.

If you're wondering what happens in demo 6, I somehow went into a load zone, and I was teleported back up the ladder to the first area. That was just, odd. But the place I got to was odd as well ^^;Just now I finished my Unforseen Consequences collection.

I think this is all the tricks I can do in this level. I found a few new things while revisiting this level, some of which weirded me right the hell out. About 10 new tricks.

I forgot which demos they are, but I suppose you'll see. There's one demo that's kind of pointless (UC). It was just a strafe jumping trick. After the jump, you may want to then go to UC228 demos in all, no HL Bunny.

You may spring a rubbery one at a few of these tricks.EDIT: I'm a damn idiot, that's not all the tricks that can be done in UC, rofl. I forgot to go ahead of the level, silly meExpect more demos this evening. That'd be cool if you could send me your demo of getting to the top of the elevator. The trick in Surface Tension you mentioned isn't really new to me, but in a way it is.

OO;Before I begin on that though, the first.zip file has demo 'UC28' in it, which is a dud for some reason. Just ignore it.Anyways, I went through the other parts of Unforseen Consequences (rofl, how could I have forgotten? =D) and did some more tricks. The real UC28 demo is in this.zip file, along with many others:Now to continue with my incredible find, I have something to confess. In the HL tricks document, I lied about getting to the bottom of that enormous pit in the crane area. Yes I know, I admit it, I'm a hack. The one demo in this pack 'UC37,' I got down there with god mode, so don't even play it back. However, if you happen to view UC40, you'll realize that I did.

MAKE IT TO THE BOTTOM OF THAT PIT!!! Sorry for the allcaps, but do you realize how amazing that trick is?! First person in history, baby.

So now my conscience is clear, as I have finally made it to the bottom of that pit alive. Now you may be asking just how the hell I got to the bottom of that pit.If you will, watch the demo, and then come to me with questions ^^;For the people who don't have v.1.1.1.0 handy, I'll be happy to explain what's happening in that demo file (because it's truly amazing). To give you a hint about what I did, I didn't magically find a way to ride the cranes to the bottom, nor did I wall slide to the bottom. Yeah, you should really watch that demoEDIT: Which level should I do next? I don't really know which one I should do next. You people tell me which one.

If you're wondering what happens in demo 6, I somehow went into a load zone, and I was teleported back up the ladder to the first area.I knew about that Also worked for me when I was there.Right now I'm at the Uni with my laptop and WLANLet me see if i find a link for HLSP BunnyI will post the jump to the top of the elevator in blast pit as soon as i'm back homeAnd i got one question. Right before residue processing you get captured. That works with a teleport trigger that beams you in a black room (spraypaint and flashlight - you can see it). Did you do a jump to the sides right before the trigger?

In life

You can enter the room and not touch the trigger yet and the do jumps on the crates to the sides. I did not bother to make a demos as there is nothing and when you move further in that room you still hit the triggerEDIT: oh HLSP is only 700k. I could have downloaded that at home. quoteIf you're wondering what happens in demo 6, I somehow went into a load zone, and I was teleported back up the ladder to the first area. /quoteI knew about that:) Also worked for me when I was there.Right now I'm at the Uni with my laptop and WLAN:)Let me see if i find a link for HLSP BunnyI will post the jump to the top of the elevator in blast pit as soon as i'm back homeAnd i got one question. Well you can still use the health charger, because the black room is right at the backside of the room with the triggerBut it was already in one of the speed runs. Probably RandomEngysEDIT: heres the demo of getting on the elevator.actually made a new one because the old was very short. Just a grenade jump up and then stopBut this time it was way easier.

Half Life Glitch Life

Took me only 10 tries. Well I now know how to grenadejump:)I bet the same would be true for you. I thought it was just object overload or something. I grenaded back from the bottom of the crate area and it was there. I went through Office Complex for more health (for the drop to the bottom), went back and it was still there. Weird stuff.Jumping on top of it and surviving is cool as well, although I didn't manage it in 'UC39'Anyways, I found a couple new tricks in Anomolous Materials, both in the test chamber.

Once you press the switch, you can jump off the railing and stall the rotors. You can also jump on the spinning things, but you always fall off at a certain point. Once you press the switch, you can jump off the railing and stall the rotors. You can also jump on the spinning things, but you always fall off at a certain point.

Discoverer(s)Spider-WaffleGamesEngineUsed inInfinite Health Door is used to gain a huge amount of health points. It's a mapping error, so it's only found in the map. This trick is very useful for the rest of the game maps in a speedrun, since you can do unlimited damage boosts and survive.ExplanationFor some reason. in this map the designer left both of the doors (likely copypasted) with -1 damage value, this HURTS you with -1 damage (which is negative negative = positive) per tick, which is once per frame.Since the HEV (armor) reduces the damage you take at 5 regular points = 2 HEV and 1 HP and uses rounding for values less than 5, 1 regular point lost with HEV becomes 1 HEV and 0 HP lost. Thus you must have zero HEV otherwise HEV will increase and health will remain the same.

The value is a 32bit integer so that means a maximum of hp. To reach that value, you'd have to stand in the health door for 24 days (576 hours).Raising the FPS in this helps a lot as you get an amount of hp per second related to your FPS.
