Have you compared how one exposes vs the other?I have not done formal testing, but generally I find that (to my way of processing) the center-weighted tends to under expose, but I would imagine that it was designed that way in order to preserve highlights. Because of this, I usuallyfind I need to dial in +.3 exposure compensation. When using the averaging system, to my eye, the results are more accurate out of the camera. While I do acknowledge the need for some post processing, I really don't want to spend time on almost every frame 'tweaking' it. Phototeacher wrote:ochastan wrote:Thanks.

Using the View finder default center weight metering will defiantly under expose especially there's bright light (like sky) in large part of the frame, by using LV multi spot metering will get more accurate result in this case. For comparison, I shot this scene using view finder center weight and LV multi spot metering, you can see how big of a difference this make.
